Description of Work:


Ramsey County is looking for a skilled application developer to work with our Application Development team in Information Services. In this role, the selected contractor will take the lead on Power Platform initiatives, driving the design, development, and implementation of solutions that transform data into actionable insights. They will also oversee/mentor a small team of developers working in the Power platform (mainly Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).


Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership and Mentoring:


• Direct a team of Power Apps developers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.

• Guide day-to-day development activities, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.

• Conduct regular code reviews, offering constructive feedback to enhance team performance.

• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages professional growth.


Power Platform Development:


• Lead the end-to-end development of MS Power Platform projects, from requirement gathering to deployment.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.

• Design and implement data models, ETL processes, and reporting tools using MS technologies.

• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all BI platforms.


Technical Expertise:


• Stay updated with the latest Power Platform technologies, incorporating new techniques to improve efficiency.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues promptly.

• Advocate for best practices in software development and data management.


Qualifications:


Technical Skills:


• Proficiency in application development utilizing SDLC and ALM practices.

• Expert skills in development with MS Power Platform (including Apps, Automate, and Power Pages)

• Strong understanding of database design and data warehousing concepts.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Knowledge of Azure cloud services and technologies is a plus.

• Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
