Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 8-12 years of experience in the Data Warehousing space, with a strong focus on AWS Redshift and Data Warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of hands-on experience working with Redshift, coupled with strong SQL skills and familiarity with Hadoop systems and concepts.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouse systems with a focus on AWS Redshift. Experience in migrating from on-prem Hadoop to AWS Redshift is a significant plus.
This is an on-site role based in St. Louis, MO, requiring candidates to be available from Day 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale data warehouse systems using AWS Redshift.
- Apply data warehousing concepts and implement high-performance data models.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Support data migrations, specifically from on-prem Hadoop systems to AWS Redshift.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data architecture and system performance.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across different data platforms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in the Data Warehousing field.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS Redshift.
- Expertise in Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in writing complex queries.
- Knowledge of Hadoop systems and concepts.
- Experience with data migrations, preferably from on-prem Hadoop to AWS Redshift (a strong plus).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a data-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work on-site in St. Louis, MO.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale data migrations, specifically from Hadoop to cloud-based systems (AWS).
- Familiarity with other AWS services like S3, Glue, or Lambda.
