Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 8-12 years of experience in the Data Warehousing space, with a strong focus on AWS Redshift and Data Warehousing concepts. The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of hands-on experience working with Redshift, coupled with strong SQL skills and familiarity with Hadoop systems and concepts.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouse systems with a focus on AWS Redshift. Experience in migrating from on-prem Hadoop to AWS Redshift is a significant plus.

This is an on-site role based in St. Louis, MO, requiring candidates to be available from Day 1.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale data warehouse systems using AWS Redshift.
  • Apply data warehousing concepts and implement high-performance data models.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Support data migrations, specifically from on-prem Hadoop systems to AWS Redshift.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data architecture and system performance.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across different data platforms.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience in the Data Warehousing field.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS Redshift.
  • Expertise in Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience in writing complex queries.
  • Knowledge of Hadoop systems and concepts.
  • Experience with data migrations, preferably from on-prem Hadoop to AWS Redshift (a strong plus).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a data-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on-site in St. Louis, MO.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale data migrations, specifically from Hadoop to cloud-based systems (AWS).
  • Familiarity with other AWS services like S3, Glue, or Lambda.
