Senior Data Center Project Manager

Overview:
We are seeking a self-driven Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in data center design and fit-out to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. This is a long-term contract position responsible for managing the white space fit-out of a data center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center physical infrastructure, including structured cabling, power distribution, space planning, and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of data center fit-out projects, providing on-site support in coordination with design subject matter experts.
• Collaborate with the team to estimate project costs and develop sales proposals for new business opportunities, with assistance from the corporate office.
• Develop Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), overseeing the bid leveling and analysis process.
• Create project budgets and plans during the design and analysis phase.
• Act as the on-site Project Manager, managing client relationships, overseeing subcontractors, and ensuring all project deliverables meet client expectations.
• Maintain and manage client documentation, including scope, budget, billing, schedules, and project timeframes.
• Approve all project-related expenses and ensure timely reporting and communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience working as a Project Manager within a data center environment.
• 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in data center facilities design and build project management.
• Strong understanding of data center design, deployment, power distribution, and structured cabling best practices.
• Experience managing mid-sized data center build-outs or fit-outs in colocation facilities.
• Proven ability to manage client expectations, scope, and project timelines effectively.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

• Familiarity with design drawings (plans, sections, elevations) and the ability to interpret them effectively.
• Strong relationships with local vendors or data center real estate investment trusts (REITs).
• Ability to assist with project estimation and sales proposal creation.
• Knowledge of bid documents and contractor bid leveling processes.
• Relevant certifications such as RCDD, BICSI DCDC, CDCDP, or PMP.
