Software Engineer with DevOps Focus

Job Description:

Software Engineer with a strong focus on DevOps to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in DevOps roles, preferably with a background at Capital One, and be familiar with the tools and processes used there, including Bogie and One Pipeline. This role will involve working on the migration of software products into Generation 3 (Gen3) accounts, with a significant emphasis on AWS and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the Gen3 migration of software products, specifically managing EC2 instances and Docker containers provided by vendors.
• Integrate the software into One Pipeline and set up monitoring using CloudWatch.
• Create and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation templates (CFT).
• Provide support and management of AWS services, including ECS, VPCs, and security groups.
• Potentially work with Kubernetes, with prior experience in this area considered a plus.

Required Skills:

• AWS Expertise: Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, ECS, VPCs, security groups, and CloudFormation templates.
• DevOps Experience: Previous experience in DevOps, with a preference for candidates who have worked at Capital One and are familiar with Bogie and One Pipeline.
• Project Experience: Experience with account migration of software products into Gen3 accounts at Capital One is highly desirable.
• Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in using automation tools and creating scripts to manage infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

• Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
• Monitoring & Logging: Proficiency in setting up and managing monitoring tools like CloudWatch.
