Cognos Developer

Responsibilities:
 

• Design, develop, using Cognos (Cognos FM Models, reports, dashboards, data modules, data sets, etc.) and maintain relational databases for data storage and data mining.
• Perform data warehouse design and testing, including data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation.
• Design data warehouse schematics, layouts, and capacity planning.
• Create and implement effective metrics and monitoring processes.
• Develop processes and procedures for entering information into data warehousing systems and for ensuring reliability of information entered.
• Seek continuous improvement in performance of data warehouse and ensure security of data.
• Understanding of Cognos solution development including reports, dashboards, framework, data module, etc.
• Understand Business Objects reports for the purposes of completing analysis for conversion to Cognos.
• Work with external and internal partners at both the business and technical level to define requirements and identify solutions.
• Analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues relating to development of reporting solutions.
• Communicate with business users and other IT groups at a technical and functional level.
• Develop appropriate documentation both technical and procedural.
• Participate in code reviews

Degree Requirement: A minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, or a closely related field, or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
