Job Overview: The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring data security, and responding to potential threats. This role involves monitoring networks, detecting vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to safeguard sensitive information. The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles, basic experience in security operations, and a willingness to grow in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Security Monitoring and Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and network traffic for potential security incidents.
- Assist in the detection, analysis, and response to security breaches and threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments to identify potential risks.
2. Incident Response and Threat Mitigation:
- Support the cybersecurity team in responding to security incidents, including malware attacks, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access.
- Assist in documenting and investigating security events to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
- Perform basic malware analysis and assist in containing threats during security incidents.
3. Security Policy and Compliance Support:
- Assist in the enforcement of security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Support security audits and help implement recommendations to improve security posture.
4. Security Tools and Technologies:
- Maintain and operate security tools such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions.
- Assist in the deployment and management of security patches and updates across IT systems.
5. Security Awareness and Training:
- Provide support in security awareness initiatives by helping with training sessions for employees.
- Assist in creating documentation and guidelines to educate staff on safe cybersecurity practices (e.g., phishing awareness, password management).
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date documentation on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and the organization’s cybersecurity measures.
- Create and distribute reports summarizing security activity and incident responses.
