Qualifications
Minimum
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Proven experience in data engineering, particularly in a utility or energy sector environment
• Strong expertise in OSIsoft PI, including architecture, system integration, and data management
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases, as well as familiarity with common data science toolkits
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow, NiFi, or similar
• Excellent programming skills, particularly in Python, Java, or Scala
• Ability to work independently and to take accountability
• Ability to be creative
• Ability to communicate in a brief and to the point manner
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SQL
Desired
• 3-5 years of experience within any area of Electric Operations in the electric utility industry
• 2-3 years SAP experience in Asset and Work Management
Responsibilities
• Design and implement robust data pipelines to integrate a variety of data sources, including OSIsoft PI systems, into a centralized analytics platform.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize real-time data flows from digital substation systems, ensuring high data quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute data strategies that support digital substation objectives.
• Create and manage databases and data storage solutions that are secure, scalable, and efficient.
• Utilize advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to predict and solve complex operational challenges in the utility sector.
• Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling to enhance substation asset management and reliability.
