Job Description
· One systems analyst is being solicited by TDI to perform work on legacy modernization projects to serve the business needs of the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). The emphasis of work performed shall be Unix and Windows server administration.
· The work will include but is not limited to, OS and application builds, hardening, configurations, scripting, and troubleshooting. Work will require familiarity with MS SQL and/or Oracle database backends. Contract staff will need to work closely with agency ITS staff and Data Center Services teams. Contract staff will also be responsible for writing technical and user documentation.
· The worker should have strong knowledge of and experience working on remote virtual servers and in Azure cloud environments.
· The contract staff shall work on a project and support team, participating in regular meetings, work sessions, and interactions with the business owners, technical staff, and vendors. They should be a self-starter with experience working in a virtual collaborative setting with multiple teams and tasks.
· The worker should possess strong written and oral presentation skills, with abilities to help present work done. This work may also include other support projects as determined by time available and remaining in the contract. All project work will include change management workflows, business processes, and other requirements in support of DWC and legacy modernization efforts.
Requirement
· 8 or more years of experience. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, may lead, and direct the work of others, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
· Working on projects that cross-functional agency systems and that require planning and scheduling during project development and implementation
· Troubleshooting and solving complex problems related to the implementation or maintenance of system software and operating systems
· Testing systems and/or applications to ensure user and functional requirements are met
· Working on Unix system analysis and/or administration
· Working on Windows Server system analysis and/or administration
· Creating and troubleshooting scripting and/or coding for servers, services, or operations
· Working with Oracle or MS SQL database servers
· Working on Microsoft 365 administration
· Using Microsoft Teams or other collaboration tool to communicate and work within a team
· Writing user documentation
· Writing technical documentation
· Working as a systems analyst or security administrator in direct support of a State agency in the Texas State Data Center environment
· Working as a systems analyst or security administrator in the Microsoft 365 government tenant for a Texas State agency
· Working with IBM Datacap Software
