Job: Accela System Administrator
Location : Atlanta, Georgia 30303-REMOTE
The system administrator will work closely with AIM (IT Department), Department of City Planning (DCP), other City of Atlanta resources, and the software vendor (Accela) as needed.
This role will focus primarily on supporting the Sr. Accela System Administrator and the customers who use Accela and other permitting-related applications.
The System Administrator will work with business and technical staff to estimate level of effort for requested changes, solution and document application changes, establish processes, and implement best practices. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot configurations and customizations.
The Accela System Administrator will have the opportunity to perform a variety of functions in the development lifecycle, including systems analysis, programming, configuration, testing, change management, maintenance and user communication tasks to deliver new mission critical solutions to various City agencies.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum three years of current, professional IT development experience
· Ability to generate simple and complex SQL queries from a specification document using PL/SQL (Oracle) syntax
· Experience creating and formatting reports using Crystal Reports
· Experiencing developing custom functionality using JavaScript
· Experience creating custom database views
· Database and file management techniques
· Providing direct customer support and end user training
· Troubleshooting complex application, integration and performance issues
· Conducting root cause analysis and providing solutions that minimize the impact to the business
· Recommend and draft standards, policies and procedures that promote a stable and sustainable enterprise application environment
· Experience with Accela platform, including Automation, Citizen Access, and Data Manager is desirable
· Knowledge of the Accela database schema or aptitude to quickly learn
· Establish and maintain working relationships with employees, agencies, and vendors
· Effectively communicate orally and in writing
· Work with software vendors, contractors and industry experts in a lead role
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field
Equivalency: Appropriate education and experience may substitute for education requirements.
