Job Description:
The SPECS team is working 100% remote environment. It's expected that the reports designer and coder will be available during standard business hours, 8am - 5 pm M-F, East coast time (CONUS).
The primary purpose of this position is to provide coding and report design expertise in support of client and team objectives. This individual will be working with other analysts and our NCDOT clients to deliver required reports in a time manner and satisfaction of the customer, within the parameters of the AASHTOWare Project application and Grape City tool. This self-driven person will be responsible for delivering coding and report design expertise in support of client and team objectives. Work will include enhancements to existing code, support changes, and new development, as assigned. A person in this position will work with development team members to modify and design new reports based on database tables, provide thorough documentation of report requirements as it relates to business processes, track report change requests and deliver products in an agile environment. This individual will set goals by identifying requirements, use cases and tests, estimate hours required for business analysis and task completion, and ensure clear communication regarding components to be delivered to the business. Communication with the IT team will include creation of backlog items and daily meetings. This individual will be responsible for breaking down the design into milestones and work items, tracking status, managing communication and dependencies both to the technical team, and to the business customer. This individual will also coordinate test validation and rollout for functional components, ensuring customers are informed & trained with sufficient help & training materials. It is expected that this person will also recommend a standard report framework for future report work, and teach the rest of the team about basic report development (basic processes and overall structure of the code).
The individual selected for this position must ideally be knowledgeable and experienced with preconstruction processes in a state level DOT, have worked with AASHTOWare Project (AWP), be familiar with Grape City Tools as they're implemented in AWP, and be able to work in a challenging customer service environment. This person is ultimately accountable to the SPECS IT manager for the effective delivery of standard user reports in a timely fashion.
