Duties and Responsibilities:

v The Cloud Engineer role in the RCS CloudOps Team helps drive the strategic direction of cloud operations for Retail and Corporate Systems and build solutions that improve the efficiency of cloud operations for the entire subdivision and help drive innovation in teams. Activities include:

·Automation of cloud offerings

·Helping design best practices in cooperation with Architecture and other partner teams

·Defining and creating monitoring and service best practices for the sub divisional engineering and test accounts to ensure developer efficiency

·Creating and maintaining metrics and dashboards to maintain visibility into the efficiency of the cloud environments

·FinOps to ensure cost-effective operation in the cloud

 About the Candidate

·You are well versed in AWS Services and Cloud Technologies, and how they interact with legacy on-prem environments

·You have a passion for developing proficiency analyzing the efficiency of Cloud workloads

·You have experience with one or more scripting languages (python, shell scripting, cloud-native CLIs and APIs)

·You have an understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD practices at Vanguard

·You have experience with monitoring on-prem and cloud environments

·You have an understanding of container technologies

·You have the ability to deliver high-quality client-facing documentation in Confluence that pays attention to detail

·You have a strong client service orientation and would enjoy helping foster a strong engineering culture

·You have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to right-level the conversation

·You have a demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

·You have experience with Infrastructure as Code using Cloudformation
