Description

We are seeking an AWS Cloud Native DevSecOps Engineer. The responsibilities include executing full life cycle activities in support of multiple DevSecOps tools, including but not limited to:
-Work directly with the architect, principal, and lead engineer, and other team members on design and implementation tasks.
-Plan and build roadmaps for the EKS and AWS DevOps implementation.
-Build applications using EKS and AWS best practices.
-Be accountable for meeting milestones.
-Conduct code reviews, and unit and integration testing.
-Document system design and unit testing information.
-Automate manual steps.

Day-to-Day Activities:
-AWS and EKS operations.
-Build the agreed-upon application that leverages EKS, and Cloud Native concepts, and implements it in production.
-Retrospect on the current implementation and document for future use.
-Work with Cloud Native tools.
-Administer the AWS console where the CloudBees agent exists on the EC2 instance.

This is a long-term contract position and is primarily remote. However, meetings occur at our customer's Reston, VA office. We are seeking candidates who can drive to Reston, VA for meetings with a 1-day notice.

Required Skills:
10 years of overall software engineering expertise, with 5+ years of experience in the following:
-Hands-on experience with EKS and AWS.
-Hands-on experience with Python, and Shell scripting.
-Expertise with CloudBees, Bitbucket, Sonar, Artifactory, and Cloud Native practices. Broad knowledge of development and testing best practices in DevSecOps.
-Outstanding knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Testing (CT), and Continuous Deployment (CD) concepts.
-Working knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
-Apply engineering principles to improve the resiliency, performance, efficiency, and scalability of the DevSecOps ecosystem.
-Identify opportunities and build automation to reduce team interdependency.
-Linux administration.
-Windows administration.
-Excellent documentation skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
