Summary: In this role, the AWS DevOps engineer helps customers transform and evolve their business using AWS’s extensive cloud services. As part of an entrepreneurial team in this rapidly growing business, you will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and help shape the future of how cloud computing is used in the Enterprise for our customers. You will advise, manage, and optimize our customers’ DevOps infrastructure, implement best practices, and drive the adoption of DevOps principles throughout the organization. Your expertise will enhance our software development and deployment pipelines while maintaining the highest reliability, scalability, and security levels.
Location: Remote - US must work EST hours
Scope/Level of Decision-Making: This exempt position operates under limited decision-making and supervision. Position performs various assigned activities, referring more complex issues to the manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Provide thought leadership and technical expertise with clients, understand their business objectives, and tailor DevOps solutions to meet their unique requirements.
· Conduct comprehensive assessments of the client's existing development and operations processes, identifying areas for improvement and developing a customized DevOps roadmap.
· Collaborate with clients to engineer and code DevOps solutions, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IAC), and automation strategies.
· Build, implement and configure DevOps tools and technologies, such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, to improve the client's software delivery pipeline.
· Monitor the client's DevOps infrastructure, identify optimization areas, and make improvement recommendations.
· Act as a technical resource to resolve issues and address challenges that may arise during the implementation and maintenance phases.
· Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and best practices for internal and client use.
· Lead, mentor, and support additional engineers in a team environment.
Qualifications & Skills
· Preferred, 5+ years or more consulting experience working with external clients across a variety of industry markets
· Extensive experience as a DevOps engineer with a proven track record of successful implementation of production solutions on cloud platforms, preferably AWS
· Hands-on experience with monitoring with Cloud Watch, Prometheus, and Grafana
· Deep knowledge and expertise in Amazon Web Services and its components, such as AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, Apache Airflow, and related data technologies such as dbt and Databricks.
· Strong expertise in DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration.
· Ability to design, code, and deploy CI/CD pipelines using both Cloud Native services and third-party tools.
· Hands-on experience deploying and managing infrastructure with Terraform & Cloud Formation
· Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK, and deploying applications on AWS.
· Programming experience with Python, Terraform, and CloudFormation
· Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex data engineering challenges.
· Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
· Has the ability to adapt to changing project requirements and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Certifications:
AWS Certification preferably: AWS DevOps Certified Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect
