Job Description:

The Mississippi Department of Education is looking for a Azure/Cosmos DB developer who is passionate about technology and wants to deliver real improvements to business users in smart and effective ways, improving their everyday tasks. The successful candidate must have a desire to enhance their skills and willingness to learn.

The candidate will thoroughly evaluate all functionality of the solution before delivering to the customer. They will provide ongoing support and will work to fix issues as they arise. Thecandidate must have strong written and oral communication skills to be able to document

internal processes and build user documentation.. 

This position will require a qualified Azure/Cosmos DB Developer to take the lead in the following

tasks:

 Coordinate with the data team to organize tasks across pipelines

 Designing and implementing data models and data distribution

 Loading data into an Azure Cosmos DB database

 Optimizing and maintaining the solution

 Integrate the solution with other Azure services

 Design, implement, and monitor solutions that consider security, availability, resilience,

and performance requirements

 Familiar with provisioning and managing resources in Azure

 Able to interpret JSON, read C# or Java code, and use PowerShell

Experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring cloud-native applications that store and manage data.

Experience developing apps for Azure and working with Azure Cosmos DB database technologies.

Experience writing SQL queries for the API and be able to create appropriate indexing policies.

Experience creating server-side objects with JavaScript
