Position: Business Intelligence Developer

Location: St. Louis, MO/ Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Duration: 8 months+ (high possible extension)


Key Notes:

The project is for insights migration on-prem to AWS cloud. Using Jaspersoft now and it can't come with them to the cloud. Migrate Jasper to the Tableau server. This will serve the customer as an embedded solution. Must have tableau and may have to rework data models to work. Needs Postgres.

Candidate should be eligible to get a security clearance, if needed.

This position is in the data services organization that creates the nation's most comprehensive source of person-based incarceration, justice, and risk intelligence data. As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for writing SQL queries, building reports and dashboards, developing ETLs, and working with internal teams to use data for driving the business. You will be responsible for supporting ETLs, reports, and dashboards developed by the Business Intelligence team that have been promoted to production. The Business Intelligence Developer will partner with other analysts, developers, Product Managers, data engineers, and internal stakeholders to address areas of need where data can help provide insight into the business or solve a business problem.

Responsibilities:
The Business Intelligence Developer frequently interacts with stakeholders and delivers dashboards, reports, and data as needed.
Architect, design, estimate effort, and build ETL workflows, internal/external customer reports, and internal dashboards.
Participate in the development of Alteryx workflows that populate internal database tables used to create dashboards and reports.
Documents research, stakeholder communication, and issue resolution via the Business Intelligence wiki and assists in improving support efforts. Should be able to verify issues by testing in higher environments and be on-call support for Production Incidents as needed.
Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of business intelligence experience working with ETL, data visualization tools, intermediate to advanced database knowledge, SQL coding, and troubleshooting.

Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and RedShift preferred) with the ability to develop ad-hoc queries and modify existing queries.

Ability to work with large amounts of data and see the bigger picture.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Experience working independently and ability to handle multiple priorities.
