Business Intelligence Developer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with experience in the retail sector to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in leveraging data to provide actionable insights and supporting decision-making processes across the company. The right candidate will be a great partner with our business users, curious, ability to translate requests into reports, skilled at building out logical frameworks for data analysis and creating visually compelling reports to represent the data. Your work will enable us to move beyond raw data, delivering clear answers and valuable insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and implement solutions in PowerBI tailored to the retail industry. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for retail operations, create dashboards, and generate reports that provide actionable insights.
• Retail Analytics: Utilize retail-specific analytics to track and analyze sales performance, customer behavior, inventory management, and supply chain operations. Translate complex data sets into understandable and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative Solution Development: Work closely with business users to understand their analytical needs. Identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and propose BI solutions that add value.
• Data Integration & Management: Design, build, and maintain data models and warehouses. Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing quality control measures and data governance practices.
• Visualization & User Interface Design: Develop intuitive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Customize visualizations to meet the specific needs of the retail business.
• Training & Support: Provide training and support to business users on BI tools and dashboards. Empower users to understand and utilize reports to derive insights independently.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a BI Developer, with a specific focus on the retail industry.
• Strong understanding of retail metrics, KPIs, and analytics.
• Expertise in BI tools and data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems.
• Experience in data modeling and knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with retail management systems and POS data is highly desirable.
