Job Summary:
ServiceNow Principal Architect to join the Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) Team within the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) team. The ITSM team is responsible for delivering and governing ITSM Processes and capabilities that align with business capabilities
 
The Architect will be responsible for managing the ServiceNow Infrastructure Discovery / Mapping / Integration process and supporting the Application/Service Mapping lifecycles along with their associated technologies.  This role should also be responsible for driving Transformational Road Map for Seamless Integration of CMDB with NT’s Global Infrastructure. Interacts with senior leadership to support discussions related to their implementation roadmap and configuration management best practices for implementation. Should work closely with other technology SMEs to build and maintain accurate application service maps. Designs, develops, and implements custom patterns, probes, and sensors to achieve a complete and accurate discovery of infrastructure components and application services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ServiceNow Discovery activities (Cloud and On-Prem) and supports ServiceNow Service Mapping Activities.
• Responsible for creating/updating discovery patterns to discover the CIs.
• Monitors discovery and service mapping results, reconciling and addressing any anomalies.
• Works with Service Owners and SMEs to ensure that accurate service maps are discovered and maintained.
• Fundamental understanding of networking including TCP/IP ports, firewalls, Network Protocols and IP networks.
• Expert level understanding of CMDB classes
• Working knowledge on clearing CMDB discovery related issues such as duplicate CIs, Port Issues and permission issues etc.
• Implementation/Design of CMDB MID Servers. Proactively plans capacity of ServiceNow MID servers and maintains and configures appropriately.
• Maintenance and clustering of MID servers.
• Creates and maintains custom patterns, probes, and sensors to accommodate internal discovery requirements.
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix commands, SUDO permissions and other OS environments
• Implementation of cloud based discovery (internal & external) and discovery for other CI types.
• Establishes, monitors and maintains discovery schedules.
• Ensures that horizontal discovery and service mapping products are highly available, reliable, and performant.
• Hands-on knowledge on ServiceNow version migration/upgradation and UAT testing.
• Participates in platform upgrade planning, testing, and validation.
• Strong knowledge on ServiceNow modules like AMDB, CMDB, Service Mapping and other ITSM.
• Exposure to third-party tools for integrations like SCCM, Orchestration, Qualys, Orion and similar tool set.
• Automation Solution Design:
o Design automation solutions and workflows to streamline CMDB processes, such as data  population, reconciliation, and normalization.
• Scripting knowledge for customization (good to have) not mandatory as we have other in house developers.
o Review scripts in ServiceNow scripting languages, such as JavaScript, to automate CMDB tasks and operations and to transform and load data into the CMDB from various sources, including discovery tools, databases, and external systems.
• Must participate in projects including preparing project plans, assigning tasks, monitoring statuses, coordinating efforts, validating team recommendations, integrating efforts into a comprehensive strategy and delivering results on time.
• Create/Maintain ServiceNow discovery documentation/standard operating procedures documents.
• Writes and/or reviews system specifications, including output requirements, flow charts and technical diagrams.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline. Overall experience of 14 years and at least 6 years of related experience as a ServiceNow Service Mapping SME
• Candidate much have very good understanding of IT Infrastructure domain
• Strong analytical, communication and technical skills.
• Strong experience with out of box functionalities and supporting version upgrades efforts
Certifications Preferred:
• ServiceNow Admin, ServiceNow Implementation, ServiceNow Discovery
• ServiceNow: Discovery,  CMDB, Service Mapping, Implementation, Admin
• ITSM/CMDB/ITOM Certifications
