Position Description
The Medicaid division is embarking on a crucial project to implement a state-of-the-art data lake that will consolidate and manage diverse Medicaid payer data, including claims data, eligibility data, and provider data, as well as data obtained from vendors and public repositories. To this end, we are seeking to hire a highly qualified and experienced Data Administrator to lead the implementation of the data lake's data governance program.
Duties
Data Lake Implementation: Serves as a key input for implementation of the Data Lake, ensuring all data sources are integrated effectively, and data quality and integrity are maintained.
Data Governance Program: Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices for the Division of Medicaid, ensuring security, privacy, and compliance with data regulations.
Interoperability: Ensure the Data Lake is designed to be fully interoperable with existing and future systems, facilitating seamless data exchange and integration.
Medicaid Payer Data Expertise: Utilize extensive knowledge of Medicaid payer data, including claims data, eligibility data, provider data, vendor data, and data from online repositories to drive data analysis and inform decision-making.
Reporting and Analysis: Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to develop advanced reports and perform in-depth data analysis using modern reporting tools and methodologies.
Quality Assurance: Review and validate data sources and reporting outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to data governance standards.
Data Literacy Campaigns: Conduct data literacy campaigns to educate DOM users on the availability of and potential use cases for Data Lake data.
Project Participation: Participate in various projects to provide data and analytics expertise and assess their impact on data governance and interoperability.
Required Skills/Experience
5 years of experience as a Data Architect, preferably with healthcare payer projects.
3 years of experience working with Medicaid programs, focusing on developing organizational data strategy and improving data quality.
5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based data platforms and solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
1 year of demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders and effectively communicate, present, and teach project members.
1 year of experience with data modeling, data warehousing, data mining, developing and managing data pipelines and workflows.
3 years proven track record of managing workloads to meet critical timelines and deadlines for IT projects.
Preferred
3 years of experience with Healthcare IT projects and healthcare data.
3 years of experience developing reports using tools like the R Project for Statistical Computing, Microsoft Power BI, and other relevant tools
Certification such as Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect
