Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis:
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Understand the quality and sprawl of data to analyse the granularity and data structure
Data Modeling:
Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to support new and existing database systems.
Ensure data models comply with enterprise standards and industry best practices.
Create and manage data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
Database Design:
Design and implement efficient database schemas, tables, indexes, and other database objects.
Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and other stakeholders to integrate data models into application systems.
Optimize database design for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Data Analysis:
Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Work with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand and document data needs.
Documentation:
Document data models, design decisions, and database structures clearly and comprehensively.
Provide documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Standards and Best Practices:
Develop, enforce, and update database standards, guidelines, and best practices.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data modeling and database technology.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and quality.
Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Modeler, with a focus on Oracle databases.
Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and methodologies (e.g., ERD, UML).
Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, ER/Studio, ERwin).
Understanding of database design principles and best practices.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and techniques.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
