Job Description Summary:

The Pricing team is responsible for the systems that support fee and foreign exchange (FX) for PayPal’s payments system. Other systems that are developed and supported by the team provide for the ability to set up experiments in price sensitivity as well as suggest optimal pricing strategies based on historical data.

Job responsibilities:

Work in a scrum team implementing feature functionality in the Pricing system. Answering queries about the Pricing system for clients, tracking down and fixing defects. Being involved in design meetings to propose, discuss and refine new features and functionality.

What you’ll do

•             Be a technical leader within your team and within PayPal in general.

•             Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team.

•             Evaluate business needs and objectives.

•             Analyze and organize raw data and build data systems and pipelines.

•             Conduct complex data analysis and report on results

•             Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modelling.

•             Improving data quality and efficiency.

•             Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability

Job requirements:

•             6+ years of experience in the IT industry and experience in Data Engineering.

•             Proficiency in Data warehousing tool like Teradata and informatica.

•             Should have worked on Big data Environments – Hadoop, Pig, Hive, MR, Spark, BigQuery

•             Should have strong SQL programming skills.

•             Expert in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.

•             Knowledge of programming language like Java, python and Unix scripting is plus.

•             Proficiency in Scheduling Tools like UC4, Control-M and Tivoli (TWS) is must.

•             Expert in software engineering tools and best practices

•             Excellent written and oral communication skills

•             Working experience in an Agile methodology is highly preferred.

•             Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools is a plus.
