We are building a team with strong MS SQL Server Database and NoSQL skills who will partner with the development teams to architect, design, automate database systems and deployments and embrace new technologies. What You’ll Contribute
Supporting Cloud database systems in a 24x7 environment.
Fine-tune configurations for performance improvement.
Implement optimal backup and recovery.
Understand and optimize query performance.
Do database health checks for identifying slow queries, replication lags, instance failures, etc.
Evaluate, plan and perform the DB upgrades.
Implement appropriate indexes for performance improvement.
Provide support – during release/outage.
Implementing best practices for backups, replication, and health checks.
Database hardening – implement best practices.
Design and implement DR & HA solutions and recommendations.
Automate the process of deploying DB changes so that it can support new build/patch/hotfix.
Act as an application DBA while working with DevOps and application team.
Will be required to work with internal and external clients to resolve issues.
Will be required to be part of on-call rotation and work during outside normal business hours.
What We’re Seeking
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or related disciplines, or relevant experience in software architecture, design, development, and testing.
Extensive knowledge and hands-on in MySQL, PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, Oracle.
Very good knowledge and hands-on in AWS Cloud, Security groups, IAM roles, VPC peering, etc.
Good knowledge of DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, Terraform, GIT.
Good knowledge of developer skillset such as Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Jenkins/CICD, Groovy.
Familiarity with PCI compliance, TDE knowledge and security best practices is beneficial.
