You will be working as Engineering and Design Engineer and will be part of Motion Business Area for Traction Division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Local Product Group Manager and will be responsible for managing a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers. Formulating plan, allocating resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. Initiating, coordinating, driving and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

Your responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring development of performance targets in line with global/local targets and their achievement through regular oversight, defining required actions for improvement. Prioritizing, engaging team and implementing actions from the engagement survey
  • Ensuring delivery of technical solutions according to customer requirements and driving development of processes/practices based on customer feedback
  • Providing engineering support during the bid phase, ensuring that the resources required to deliver the technical solutions are correctly accounted
  • Guiding the team in building engineering/operational capability through training, mentoring and shadowing programs. Supporting local division in establishing and deploying required frameworks / processes
  • Conducting and following-up certification process jointly with division. Ensuring processes are in place to capture and share best practices and operational experiences
  • Responsible for manufacturing process, understating of customer drawings and specifications, preparation of tools, SOP’s, process setting, training of operators, support for making FMEA and control plan
  • Ensuring that all HSE and integrity related policies and standards are strictly adhered to and followed in local engineering unit/team
  • Ensuring the portfolio of projects/operations value chain follows sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and that projects are closed as per contracts

 

Your background

 

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in engineering department
  • Working experience in at least 2- 3 TCMS subsystems (HVAC, Door, Brake control, PIS etc.)
  • Good knowledge of functional safety requirements applied in rail transportation (EN50126, EN50657)
  • Good communication and team building skills
