Responsibilities:
• Monitor daily operations and ensure that system stability is maintained.
• Build scripts, procedures, and workflows to improve or eliminate specific incident handling.
• Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience.
• Design and develop procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and software related problems on test and production servers.
• Help with development and improvement of automation and monitoring systems.
• Assist in designing, development, and maintenance of internal tools.
• Work with developers and systems engineers to perform test and production deployments.
• Develop automated scripts to parse logs and persist statistical data in the database.
• Provide Level 2 technical support.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotational support.
• Document troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
Requirements:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ experience querying and updating a complex database using SQL and PL/SQL.
• 5+ years’ experience with RedHat/CentOS Linux and Solaris servers, shell scripting, Python.
• Working knowledge of XML, HTTP protocol and Web Services.
• Some experience in object-oriented programming using Java and understanding of Java
• application servers (especially Tomcat) is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of how to troubleshoot within Linux environments.
Technical Requirements:
• Ability to extract and abstract the core essence of requirements and complex use cases
• Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
• Need to be a self-driven individual who can multitask and prioritize competing requirements.
• Must show an ability to communicate effectively to diagnose technical problems.
• Domain name and DNS technology experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking/TCP communication at a technical level is a plus.
