DevOps Terraform Lead Architect
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a VMware-based infrastructure that supports .NET web applications and MS SQL Server clusters.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) processes using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
Develop overall architecture for organizing enterprise wide Terraform codebase.
Develop all the core components that constitute the backbone of the Terraform codebase.
Lead and facilitate the creation and adoption of standard operating procedures (SOPs) that govern day-to-day operations of this critical infrastructure.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability strategies are in place for all deployed applications and databases.
Collaborate with development, operations, and database teams to ensure infrastructure meets the requirements and standards for security, performance, and reliability.
Collaborate with custom cloud service providers who supply the basic VMware infrastructure and VMWare management tools.
Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of infrastructure automation and orchestration tools.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team members.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 6 years focused on VMware environments.
Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant VMWare infrastructure using IaC and CaC processes for large enterprises on Microsoft platforms.
Strong experience in defining SOPs, access control policies, security controls for IaC/CaC practice.
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
Strong experience integrating IaC and CaC processes with Azure DevOps.
Strong hand-on expertise in VMware Cloud Director, vSphere, NSX, and other VMware technologies.
Deep understanding of network, storage, and virtualization principles.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Desirable Skills:
Certifications in VMware (VCP, VCAP), Microsoft (MCSE), or similar.
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of cloud technologies and services (AWS, Azure,GCP).
