What You’ll do in the Job:
Payroll Related
- Working knowledge of prevailing Income Tax rates and allowances, salary components, permitted deductions, exemptions, and personal Income Tax calculations.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Human Resources, assist with the employee on-boarding processes.
- Maintain records to deal with employee attendance and leave of absence and prepare the date for use in the monthly payroll processing.
- Work closely with the company’s payroll service provider – Provide monthly payroll input reconcile monthly data files, highlighting discrepancies and working to eliminate errors in line with agreed timelines.
- Deal with and resolve payroll related queries raised by employees from time to time.
- To deal with full and final settlement calculations for the Exit Employees.
- Verify and Prepare files in readiness for payment processing.
Finance & Management Accounting
- Preparation of vendor payment files for approval by senior management, itemising all expenditure and segregating total costs to account for TDS. Should have a working knowledge of relevant TDS rates by service supply category.
- Accurately recording all Income and Expenditure transactions in the company’s books of accounts. Knowledge of Zoho accounting software would be beneficial.
- Preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet reports on a monthly basis or more frequently as directed by management.
- Managing the petty cash float, recording all cash transactions appropriately, reconciling the balance with each transaction and reporting the same in the books and records.
- Managing and maintain cost allocation models that accurately attribute direct and indirect costs to the company’s products.
- Assisting with the preparation of inter-company invoices detailing the nature and value of the services supplied by the India business to its related group companies.
- Reconciling the company bank statements in accordance with company procedures set my management and raising discrepancies or observations as necessary.
- Desirable: Preparation of Softex form / filing Softex in the STPI. Liaising with bankers towards realisation of filed Sofex and EBRC generation
Statutory Accounting and Compliance
- Assisting auditors with the preparation of the company’s statutory accounting procedures and processes.
- Assisting with verification of the books of accounts including checking the balances of all ledgers.
- Work with our internal audit function to review all observations made and queries raised and respond to these and resolve such queries in a timely manner.
- Knowledge and experience in the timely filing of all monthly GST returns, Provident Fund (PF) verification for making payment and Professional Tax (PT) payables calculation and quarterly TDS data submission for filing E-QTDS, and should hold the knowledge of penalties levied for non-compliance.
Commercial Management & Administration
- Assisting with the management and administration of a wide range of corporate insurance cover. Duties will include obtaining quotes for cover, maintaining policy compliance, claims management and related activities.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of visa applications as required to facilitate international travel.
- Other commercial and administrative duties will arise from time to time and candidates will need to accommodate these as part of their every day activities.
Candidate Qualities
- You will be interacting with employees on a regular basis, specifically relating to payroll matters. Therefore, you will need good interpersonal skills and you will need to communicate clearly using language that employees can easily understand.
- You will also be liaising with senior managers in both India and the UK dealing with, and resolving, financial queries raised by them from time to time.
- You will have an obsessive attention to detail and a strong desire to deliver a fault free service in a timely manner.
