Critical Job responsibilities:

•     Will lead the creation of a strategy/road map for migrating servers to the cloud

•     Will plan and execute the migration to the cloud

•     Will work with cloud vendors to assess and use best practices to migrate

•     Will work with team members to appropriately budget for and financially manage cloud environments

•     Will evaluate and lead DR solutions were requested

•     Will be responsible for training the team in preparation for operating and maintaining the cloud environment

•     Will be responsible for performing application assessments to understand their suitability to move to the cloud

•     Will work with application teams to upgrade code/shift to PAAS services as needed  

•     Will work with stakeholders to ensure the migration to the cloud meets all security and technology policies

•     Will oversee and assist in the creating of documentation of infrastructure design documents

Critical Business case/Justification:

The Department of Labor and Industry currently has Data Center in Scranton and Harrisburg. These Data Centers have ~1,200 servers. This position will lead the migrations of these servers and the applications that reside on them to the cloud. This includes planning, designing and executing the cloud migration. This position will interact with stakeholders including application developers and managers, infrastructure support teams, application architects, program area staff and IT executives. This position will report to the EBR Chief Technology Officer. This position is 100% remote but must agree to work 8am-5pm EST to collaborate with other team members effectively.
