Job Summary: Responsible for planning, directing, implementing, and overseeing human resources policies and activities such as employment, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, and communications for the organization. The Human Resources Manager is the primary human resources contact for the company. It is essential that this position works effectively in a team environment and communicates effectively across multiple departments and levels. The HR Manger reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Functions:
Consistent attendance during regular work schedule to maintain effective operation of HR, including supervisory duties of payroll
Stay informed and perform duties in compliance with relevant employment laws, and advise others regarding employment laws
Prepare effective written communications, including reports, business correspondence, and procedures
Work well with employees in all departments
Maintain confidentiality of information and handle matters with appropriate sensitivity
Utilize math skills and Utilize Microsoft Office with intermediate proficiency
Create and generate reports from necessary platforms for organizational effectiveness data reporting
Develops, implements, and maintains human resources policies; record keeping, employment manuals and handbooks
Payroll Duties;
Payroll personnel reports in through this position
Prepare and submit weekly salaried payroll
Double check weekly non-exempt/hourly payroll
Payroll back up support
Weekly creation and upload of 401k data sheets into portal
Prepare monthly ROCIP reports
Work with insurance carrier for annual WC claims audit
Benefits administration including: conduct open enrollment, ensure employees are enrolled in a timely manner and support employee questions
Maintain and submit of EEO-1 Report in a timely manner
Respond to TWC unemployment claims for compliance with federal and state laws
Processes and maintains employee evaluations and records
Establishes a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; exit interviews; recommending changes
Manages the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization
Coordinates HR compliance requirements for new and existing employees including entering data into the HRIS system in a timely manner, I9 Compliance
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records
Develops and maintains training program for managers and employees
FMLA Administration in compliance with state and federal laws
Coordinate with Safety Director to maintain Workers Comp tracking and filing claims
Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Experience in a fast-paced customer-centric environment preferred
Minimum of 2 years task supervision and/or project management experience
Resourceful with exceptional problem-solving skills
Knowledge of HR business solution implementation, maintenance, workflows, reporting, etc.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, Outlook, or related employee survey tools; strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Flexibility to work with multiple priorities
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Self motivated; cooperative, works independently and in cross-functional groups towards achieving a seamless employee-customer satisfaction experience
Able to interact with individuals at all levels as well as collateral contacts
Solid judgment; able to demonstrate a high standard of personal integrity and business ethics; able to handle sensitive and confidential information
Experience and/or knowledge of general contracting or similar a plus
Experience and/or knowledge of Vista computer software a plus
Education/Experience
An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Program Administration, in relevant field with related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Minimum 5 - 7 years HR experience
Professional development certification programs related to Human Resources desirable
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Program Administration, in relevant field with related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
