Required

A z/OS Platform Engineer is needed for a contract opening with our client in Columbus, Ohio. On-site requirement in Columbus, Ohio. Core skills that are required:

Project management experience

Ownership for getting required outcome achieved

IBM Mainframe z/OS platform support and maintenance

Working knowledge of CA7 batch scheduling

Working knowledge of mainframe and server systems

Experience with batch cycle analysis

Self directed and motivated to be proactive

Essential Job Functions

Maintaining strong relationships with mid-level business partners and occasionally with executive level business partners including demonstrating understanding of the business and serving as the technology expert, participating in business meetings, including articulating business value of technology solutions to business partners.

Analyze job batch abend backlog

Tracking Batch and working with the various support areas to help speed up the resolutions

Manage Production Control team comprised of managed service provider resources

Manage project and engage required parties/partners to get required outcome

Other MF and distributed areas as needed.

Throughput Manager, Workload Manager and or similar tools

IPL management

Key Skill Set

Lead initiatives, IPL/upgrade schedules, support ticket tracking

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members

Mentoring and coaching other technical team members to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve technical problems

Comfortable working with an Agile approach

Experience with Mainframe technologies as described above, Service Now, monitoring/alerting, process improvement

Minimum Qualifications

You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

At least 10 years of IT work experience

At least 5 years management of mainframe support teams.

At least 3 years banking or financial services industry experience.

3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in designing and deploying complex mainframe IT solutions (e.g. cloud, distributed systems or high-performance computing experience

Broad mainframe technical background and knowledge of COBOL, CICS, VSAM, JCL, and related utilities.

Knowledge and experience in Mainframe application support.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
