Lead BI Solutions Developer

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate enjoys the challenges presented by working with enterprise data and is passionate about championing data quality and accuracy.
The candidate for this role will need to possess technical expertise in large scale data warehouses and enterprise data visualization tools with hands-on knowledge of advanced SQL (Snowflake or other related cloud-based databases), and preferably experience working with CRM and ERP datasets. Experiences with data engineering and sales organizations are a plus. 
This role will also entail working with a blend of senior and junior BI developers and provide the required guidance for best practices from an industry standards standpoint. This role will also request the ideal candidate to do some mentoring of the junior developers. 
This Lead role will also help to manage, align and order the data / reporting / analytic requirements against the business priorities, while coordinating the development of these requirements with the Integrated Operations BI team and help oversee the implementation of solutions.
This role is based out of our HQ Santa Clara, CA office location. Pure Storage has a hybrid work environment.***

Qualifications

Architect and implement data models, ETL processes, and data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into Snowflake.
Optimize data structures, storage, and query performance in Snowflake to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
12+ years' experience in Data Engineering of highly scalable data platforms/ecosystems.
10+ years’ experience in building and managing data platforms/ecosystems.
5+ years’ experience in Snowflake with knowledge in distributed computing preferred.
Demonstrated innate passion for Data Engineering and data architecture pertaining to Analytics.
Knowledge of Cloud data solutions, data engineering, data platforms and analytics and modern ways of automating data ingesting using cloud-based and on-premise technologies.
Hands-on experience in cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud 
Proficiency in SQL and database table design – able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
Experience in a role performing data warehouse and analytics solution design and development using a variety of techniques.
Understanding of data architecture design, data modeling, and physical database design and tuning.
Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, and/or Power BI.
Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed.
Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.
Develop and maintain data governance standards, including data security, data quality, and data lineage to ensure the integrity and reliability of BI solutions.
Design, build, and publish interactive dashboards and visualizations using data visualization tools as well as standardized reporting for internal and external stakeholders, troubleshooting and problem solving where needed.
Collaborate closely with the platforms and data teams to ensure data sources are accurate, available, and analyzable.
Work closely with developers and business analysts to test, clean, and standardize data to meet business requirements.
Experience working with data from the following systems is a plus: Costpoint, Workday, Salesforce, Snaplogic, DBT, Alteryx, etc.
