•            The Lead Business Intelligence Analyst leads teams through and/or develops technical specifications, development, and testing to support MicroStrategy suite of Business Intelligence tools and Microsoft Power BI for the organization.

•            The Lead Analyst provides technical expertise and direction for assigned critical data intelligence and automation processes.

•            They are responsible for estimating, planning, developing and delivering MicroStrategy/Power BI development activities in support of multiple projects around Enterprise Business Intelligence, with focus on the development and support of schema objects, dashboards, and reports to support the enterprise-wide dissemination of critical information.

•            Also, partners with end-users and IT management to ensure business requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

Develops and revises BI solutions to solve complex business analysis problems dealing with business needs, computer equipment capacity/ limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications for reports, graphs and dashboards based on business needs.

2.    Collaborates with various functional business units to gather user requirements in order to document the design of BI deliverables (reports, dashboards, alerts, visualizations) and obtains feedback on effectiveness of the BI solutions.

3.    Works closely with the technical team to ensure functional requirements translate completely and correctly into the technical design. Coordinates between other IT areas to maintain maximum efficiency of application systems.

4.    Defines high level information architecture to ensure all required data assets are identified and related.

5.    Specifies and configures the automated delivery of business intelligence documents (reports, dashboards, alerts).

6.    Designs, develops, implements and validates reporting application objects (Metrics, Filters, and Prompts) for various styles of data analysis and business intelligence (reporting, dashboards, advanced data discovery, data mining, geospatial analysis, subscriptions, Distribution services, etc).

7.    Plans, organizes, and executes projects of varying complexity within specified timeframes and budget. Organizes, directs, and assists development efforts of others as needed. May lead small to medium sized development projects or programs.

8.    Adheres to the IT processes and standards and ensures standards, industry best practices and methodologies are followed and quality assurance review is met. Performs integrated testing of all functions and components of developed solutions to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.

9.    Researches and responds to user questions about report and dashboard functions or interdependencies/ interrelationships of source data.

10.    Utilizes techniques for the successive phases of problem analysis. Performs the analysis, research, and resolution of production problems as part of an on-call rotation that requires 24 x 7 coverage.

11.    Maintains, debugs, and modifies reports, dashboards and other BI processes. Troubleshoots, optimizes, and tunes all reporting objects and SQL processes in support of reporting.

Qualification

1.    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

2.    Three or more years of Retail experience including knowledge of retail business metrics and how they relate to reporting development preferred.

3.    Minimum of 5 years related work experience in business analysis delivering enterprise wide critical BI solutions preferred.

4.    Minimum five years of core MicroStrategy or Power BI development required. Experience with both tools is preferred.

5.    Strong database-related development skills including complex SQL queries and complex stored procedures required.

6.    Excellent analytical, assessment, data modeling, and data mart design skills with the ability to synthesize data from various sources and perform various types of data analysis required.

7.    Ability to effectively work in various capacities as needed including leading work teams, functioning as a team member, or individually required.

8.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

9.    MicroStrategy Certified Document Developer (CDD Certification or Certified Dashboard and Mobile Designer CDMD) preferred.

10.    Experience on other BI tools such as Cognos, Tableau, Looker, etc. and knowledge of Snowflake or equivalent cloud-based Data Warehousing technology preferred.
