This person will be the primary person responsible for managing and maintaining the infrastructure for the Department as it relates to the data retrieval.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for the incumbent include the following:
- In-depth understanding of Linux operating systems, command-line interfaces, and shell scripting
- Proficiency in configuring, securing, and maintaining Linux servers and systems
- Familiarity with encryption protocols, security best practices, and compliance standards
- Implementing encryption for data at rest and in transit, ensuring data security
- Writing scripts for data retrieval, automation, and system integration
- Understanding of API design and development principles
- Developing and maintaining APIs for integrating the Linux data retrieval system with other law enforcement databases and systems
- Understanding of information retrieval techniques, indexing, and search algorithms
- Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in the data retrieval system.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and risk assessment
- A commitment to understanding the specific needs of the law enforcement agency and tailoring the Linux data retrieval system to meet those needs effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, law enforcement personnel, and other stakeholders involved in the project
- Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that may be valuable to law enforcement
- Organizing and maintaining project documentation, including version control and record-keep-keeping
