Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to join our team for a 12-month project in Tampa, Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mainframe technologies and be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and support the technical needs of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Perform application analysis, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and design solutions.
- Conduct unit testing and assist in system integration and user acceptance testing.
- Optimize and enhance existing applications to improve performance and scalability.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Document technical designs, processes, and application changes.
- Provide support for system implementations, including defect resolution and troubleshooting.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Must-Have Skills:
- Mainframe Development Experience: Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Debugging and Performance Tuning: Proficiency in mainframe debugging tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Software Development Life Cycle: Experience in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and provide timely solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with business and technical teams.
