Job Description
This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including a thorough understanding of electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The MET will perform medium to high-level machine systems troubleshooting and repair, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation.
Tasks
- Demonstrated skills in the area of AC/DC circuits, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience in electrical safety and lockout/tagout processes and procedures.
- Knowledge in the theory and application of electronic devices, such as industrial semiconductors, solid-state drives and industrial control systems.
- Experience in the operation of PLC systems and microcomputers.
- Experience with control and chart recorders and transducers.
- Working knowledge and skills in tools and components used in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems.
- Basic microcomputer skills. This includes I/O and interfacing concepts.
- Experience in PLC operation to include basic system configurations and hardware.
- Demonstrated skills or training in electronic motor drive technologies including servo-motors, encoders, tachometers, electronic and mechanical brakes/clutches, closed-loop systems, DC servo, AC variable-frequency, AC servo, and stepper systems.
- Experience interacting with engineers to define a project need, assist with the design and specification of mechanical/electrical/fluid power systems required to meet the project need.
- The applicant must be willing and able to bend, twist, squat, push, pull, and lift overhead with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without reasonable assistance.
Requirements
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED),
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting,
- Minimum of 5 year of related maintenance experience, experience working in a food manufacturing environment (preferred), electrical/electronic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills down to the component level,
- Applicant must be reliable and willing to work (flexible schedule) overtime, and some weekends in a cold, wet and humid environment.
- The applicant must be willing and able to lift 50lbs.
