Job Summary
The QAE will be responsible for inspecting purchased and fabricated items for compliance with engineering standards, and documentation of said activities. Additionally, the QAE will be responsible for taking an active role in the development of processes and forms used in the QMS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with industry best practices and company objectives.
- Problem Solving: Utilize a wide range of problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate production issues and enhance product quality.
- Cost Management: Understand the cost implications of quality failures and poor production practices. Develop strategies to minimize scrap rates and warranty costs while optimizing production efficiency.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication channels with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met. Develop and manage scorecards to track and communicate quality metrics.
- Quality Tools: Expertly implement top-quality and production tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and layered process audits to monitor and improve production processes.
- Design and Process Control: Lead the development of robust design and process control plans. Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive measures.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming items for compliance with engineering documentation.
- Inspect Fabricated items for compliance with engineering documentation.
- Document non-conforming outputs.
- Present reports of relevant findings to management as required.
- Develop flow charts of existing processes.
- Identify value added quality checks for In-Process inspections.
Experience and Education
- 5 years of mechanical assembly inspection experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow technical documentation such as Work Instructions, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately inspect mechanical components and fabricated products.
- Exceptional listening, communication, and presentation skills (verbal and written).
