Description

Mechanical Engineer (Ref# ME87AMC) to work in Naperville, IL and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Job Duties: Responsible for the design, development, and support of mechanical products, components, systems, and sub-systems. Perform design development, testing, troubleshooting analysis, validation, prototyping, and implementing mechanical sub-assemblies. Create and evaluate new design concepts to meet requirements of specified applications. Create designs using special tools including Siemens NX, Teamcenter, MacroFlow, and ANSYS. Design activities including thermal and stress analysis, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), technical product documentation, FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis), and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Create and follow a robust engineering change process. Responsible for configuration management (re-identification, Bill of Materials, change request, etc.). Develop resolutions to critical issues and design matters in low vacuum, high temperature, and flow architecture. Work on issues that impact design or addresses future concepts, products, or technologies. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs with in-house prototypes. Support the preparation of detailed design, testing, and prototype fabrication. Involved in mechanical design, new product development, process improvement, and production support and optimization of mechanical products. Travel and/or relocation required.

Requirements: This position requires a Master' s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Design Engineer, Design Specialist, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor' s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Position requires 1 year of experience with GD&T, NX, and Teamcenter. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
