Responsible for Safety Design Process: Risk Assessment, Risk Mitigation, Dynamic Safety Testing, and Validation of Safety Systems.

Contractor Oversight of Technical Trades: Ensure Quality of Workmanship and Adherence to Plant/Industry Safety Rules Compliance.

Project Management

Design/Develop Project Scope, Project Budget, Project Justification/Feasibility, Funds Request/Project Documents Preparation, Procurement (RFQs, SAP Ordering/Budget Tracking), Installation & Testing, Equipment Release to Production, & Verification of Project Closing (Documentation for Maintenance, Stock Item Request, & Lessons Learned)

Work with cross functional team to understand scope, functional specifications, and design requirements.

Design mechanical safety systems/barriers provide CAD (3D) drawings of designs

Assist CFT with understanding designs, safety impact, workflow, productivity, etc.

Develops Bill of Materials for scope of supply required on the project and works with vendors to acquire.

Work with maintenance, production, and engineering to resolve problems relating to mechanical systems

Rak reduction and improve reliability of mechanical systems

Provide quality system processes such as checking the work of others, following standard procedures, and ensuring compliance to codes and standards.

Lead hardware assembly and fabrication.

Design, plan, fabricate and install pneumatic, hydraulic & conveying systems.

Provide cross functional team direction of checkout, commissioning, and reliability activates

Communicate with CFT and management regarding project status.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure success.

Estimate system design, material, installation, checkout, commissioning, and activation of projects.

Plan labor resources and scheduling project milestones to ensure project completion within technical scope, budget, and schedule.

Develop proposals to capture future work on existing lines.

Lead mechanical projects through all phases to include design, fabrication, implementation, testing (FAT), commissioning, and daily operation.

What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?

In this role, the Mechanical Engineer will research, plan, design, develop, and implement/install mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. As a Senior Professional you will apply advanced knowledge of a job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

  • Must have true manufacturing experience (Industries to look at: Automotive, Steel, Textile, Pulp & Paper)
