This role is more of Infrastructure and/or Network Security Engineer. The work is split between 80% Lab and 20% Production support. The lab work might involve installation and deinstallation of network equipment, testing, or documenting environments. The production work might involve creating configurations based on the lab testing, and ensuring the configuration is successfully deployed.
Minimum Skills and Experience:
Excellent understanding of network architectures including the roles of routers, switches, firewall, and application delivery controllers.
Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills, especially L1/2/3 troubleshooting skills.
3+ years of advanced configuration & system administration experience with Juniper SRX and F5 firewalls, or similar.
3+ years of experience with configuring basic routing and switching, preferable using Nokia but Juniper & Cisco is also acceptable.
Experience with installation and deinstallation of network equipment (firewalls, switches etc)
Strong project management & organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral), and the ability to multitask.
Significant experience with element management, network management tools, alarming, reporting, and network operations.
Experience with: virtualization, network management, network security, firewalls, cache servers, proxies, WAN optimizers, web servers and Linux
Experience with SNMP and SNMP based SIEM and NMS systems and need to be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds
Additional Experience:
Experience with Keysight/Ixia Breaking Point traffic simulators.
Experience with scripting and automation
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related.
