Job Description
This position is responsible for core and enterprise facets of network infrastructure and Clienthitecture. This includes evaluation and implementation of Clienthitectural principles, documenting practices and procedures, implementation and installation of solutions, and, on larger projects, participating on project teams. Tasks include needs assessment, and the use of best practices to design and deploy solutions. Projects involve the various elements underpinning network services, such as switches, routers, wired and wireless transmission, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, IP addresses, vLANs, ACLs, and network-related servers and services such as RADIUS, DNS, and DHCP. Projects may require coordination with other project management teams comprised of coworkers, clients, and subject matter experts. Other responsibilities include monitoring, investigation, resolution of incidents.
Involves after-hours and weekend work during scheduled change windows in order to minimize disruptions to critical communications services impacting University and Cliental activities. This position has after-hours rotational on-call responsibilities
Required Skills
" B.A./B.S. and 5-8 years of experience.
" Knowledge of routing policies and protocols, hardware, software, and test and management tools a must.
" Project Management, ITIL Foundations, and Advanced Cisco certification such as CCNA in wired, wireless, datacenter, voice, or comparable experience desirable.
Minimum 2 days on-site
24X7 on-call rotation required
