Duties and Responsibilities

 

The Network Engineer will:
Participates in the planning and design of network architecture
Performs maintenance of network devices including the restoration of hardware and software
Conduct advanced research and evaluation of network technology and recommend purchases of network equipment
Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through the network or other connections to ensure the security of the system
Works with end users and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues
Installs supports and tests Local and Wide Area Networks
Supports Infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless, optical, and firewalls
May develop end-user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN
Responds to and resolve help desk tickets
Participates in project management activities, as assigned
Participates in Network Team On-Call program


Qualifications:

8+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and/or a related field
Experience with one or more of the following: Active Cisco CCNP, CCDP, CCIE routing, and switching. Certifications will be a PLUS.
Expert knowledge of OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, advanced IP routing technology
Comprehensive knowledge of the following: TCP/IP network subject matters, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, and LAN/WAN technologies
Project Management skills
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detai
