Position Title: Network / System Engineer IV

Pay Range: $65/hr - $70/hr on W2

Requirements:
Responsible for matching current technology with the current needs. As part of this task, engages in the evaluation and installation of software, hardware, and other types of support equipment into a workable network that supports a variety of functions. This person has fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering infrastructure. Includes individuals performing high-level systems support. Responsibilities include providing problem determination and resolution, install and update newly developed software to assigned systems. Responsible for the operating system and associated subsystems. Provide system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Write and maintain system documentation. Responsible for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security, where necessary. Possess extensive experience with operating systems, network protocols, systems programming and configurations, and/or hubs, switches, and routers
Participate in the development and implementation of monitoring solutions aligned as core to the business information flows and systems architecture. This individual provides integrated systems planning and recommends new or different technologies that will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals aligned to the Application Production Support monitoring strategy. Recommends the appropriate monitoring capabilities in support of business process and is responsible for delivery of aligned capabilities across critical business applications. Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; providing leadership in the execution of aligned as a team member or as an individual contributor.
Required Skills
Individual will need to have :-
5-year experience engineering solutions with IBM Tivoli Netcool Suite
Netcool Omnibus - Message bus probe/gateway experience
Netcool Omnibus probe rule writing including regular expression.
Apache Kafka Ecosystem - including messaging, log aggregation.
Fault tolerant and high availability design experience
Unix background
ITRS Geneos / Kafka integration understanding.
Netcool Impact Policy writing experience a plus
XML experience a plus
A good knowledge of the following would also be beneficial:
Dynatrace , Splunk Enterprise including the
deployment, instrumentation and leveraging of the tool for
analytical and alerting capabilities- Proven
experience with supporting monitoring tools such as -
Tivoli, Microfocus BPM, Sitescope, Dynatrace, Catchpoint etc. - Knowledge
of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services,
processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc. - Proven
experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)
- Proven experience in application/network performance
and availability monitoring - Proven experience in N-Tier
Architecture supporting a multitude of products
(Webserver, Middleware, Database, etc.) - Knowledge of
ITIL functions and processes - An excellent
communicator, able to network and influence across
multiple levels is required of this role - A self-motivated,
hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills -
A strategic thinker who can link business context to
technical reality .
Desired Skills
Candidate will have experience working and
being successful in a large, multi-data center enterprise
environment. Business acumen is a plus. Communication
and flexibility are important skills for this role, as you will
be responsible for the adoption of enterprise monitoring framework
