Perl Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Perl developer to join our team and help us migrate our legacy computer-based testing and reporting system to a modern and secure platform. You will be responsible for transferring the existing Perl code and data from the old servers to the new ones, as well as testing, debugging, and optimizing the system for performance and scalability. You will also work closely with other developers and stakeholders to ensure the system meets the client's needs and expectations.

Responsibilities:

· The client uses a homemade PERL-based system for computer-based testing and certain reporting. It was built over a decade or two primarily by a computer savvy medical professor who retired last year.

· Client needs assistance migrating the services from ancient hardware in an out-of-state data center, running on outdated Linux OS and software packages, to a newly built servers running on their own VMware environment, on current OS and software packages.

· The basics of the new servers are in place and tested, and most of the old code and data have been copied over.
