Key Accountabilities
Power BI CoE Deployment and Management
• Design and implement the Power BI CoE and architecture.
• Manage and advise on the Power BI CoE, such as the environments, security roles, connectors, data sources, and best practices.
• Assist with deploying, monitoring and reporting on the usage, performance, and compliance metrics.
• Managing incidents related to the Power BI CoE, such as service outages and the policy violations.
• Identify and recommend the Power BI CoE best practices, enhancements, and innovations to improve the Power BI CoE efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide subject matter expertise on strategic as well as departmental initiatives such as Microsoft Power BI service rollouts, software upgrades, test and learn initiatives, assessment of new tools & technologies, etc.
• Identify opportunities to automate, streamline processes that will bring in efficiency in reporting and analytical environments, lessen manual intervention and increase end user efficiency.
• Work closely with the working team to manage ongoing projects while assisting by identifying next steps, risks, issues, and dependencies
Power BI User Support
• Provide advisory for business users and technical partners on technical requirements, capabilities and solutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation on the CoE, best practices, training materials, and guidelines.
• Provide consultant services for Power BI use cases and solutioning to ensure they align with policies, governance, and best practices.
Knowledge/Skills
• Very good knowledge & understanding of Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform, M365, Azure, Purview and networking knowledge of hybrid on-prem and cloud based solutions.
• Prior experience with deploying and managing Enterprise Architecture (including diagrams, documentation, and reviews)
• Practical knowledge of Power BI, Power Platform, Microsoft services and Microsoft Fabric space.
• Practical and theoretical knowledge in the area of Data Management, Big Data, BI Reporting and data analytics, including exposure to principles, practices, governance, procedures, change management, products and services.
• Project planning, management and scheduling skills sufficient to prioritize projects and meet project deadlines and budget.
• Presentation and communication skills sufficient to convey both factual and conceptual information (including presentation to executives)
• Prior experience of working closely with technology groups; familiarity of enterprise wide technology, change, project management policies and methodologies
• Act as an owner with the ability to adapt and take initiative
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.
