Austin, TX (Remote within Texas, but Onsite 2 days per week if local to Austin)
12 months Contract with possibility to extension
Creative Project Manager works in Client’s Creative Services section in the Communications Division and will plan, oversee, and document all aspects of a new marketing and educational campaign project. The goal of the campaign is to convey diverse and complex information to the general public through multiple types of media and educational programs. Work requires extensive contact with project staff, contracted creative agency, governmental agencies, and private entities and creating efficient operating work flow procedures to be a best- in-class in-house creative agency. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of the campaign, monitoring the progress and schedule of associated projects, reviewing, and accepting creative deliverables, and communicating with creative agency, project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties.
Candidate will create and manage all project documentation, including the standup and administration of the project charter, project plan, and schedule. Work also includes developing detailed schedules by work breakdown structure and resource assignments for production schedules for the in-house team, including design, video, and online and digital needs.
The candidate will assist with generating contracts, managing, and ensuring compliance by vendors, monitoring project budget, and reviewing invoices. Candidate will also recommend, coordinate, analyze, and apply relevant market research.
Candidate will review all external communications for consistent messaging, branding, etc., and coordinate production and distribution, identifying media opportunities as needed. Works with the project team and creative agency vendor to deliver specialized tactics such as media buys, news releases, social media, and video production.
• Coordinates campaign project activities with internal project team, contracted creative agency, state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors
• Develops and manages the campaign's project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and cost estimates and projections, as well as produces written materials and contracts
• Initiates campaign projects, obtains authorization and commitment, and demonstrates business need and project feasibility to include, defining the target audience to develop educational programs and messaging
Manages, oversees, and evaluates projects and contracts using accepted project management methodologies
• Reviews and recommends proposals and bids to management
• Utilizes established criteria to evaluate programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to the project
• Communicates and explains project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members
• May serve as a lead worker for related tasks.
• Monitors and manages project cost, schedule, and quality to ensure the project is completed within budget, on time, and to ensure deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
• Bachelors in Business, Public Administration, Marketing, or related disciplines.
