Resident Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to manage and maintain 120 Linux servers across two data centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our Linux server infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Linux server infrastructure across two data centers
Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and associated software on servers
Monitor server performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure high availability
Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect Linux servers from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats
Automate routine system administration tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python
Develop and maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures
Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of Linux servers with other systems and applications
Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for Linux servers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years of experience in Linux server administration and management
In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, server hardware, and virtualization technologies
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash or Python
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call support as needed
