Job Overview: 

As the Head of Retail Technology Solutions, you will lead our efforts to leverage technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our retail operations. Your main goal will be to drive innovations that improve customer experience, optimize inventory management, and increase overall sales performance while reducing operational costs. You will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of technology solutions across all retail channels, ensuring they align with business goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy for retail operations that aligns with the company’s business goals.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of innovative retail solutions, including but not limited to point-of-sale systems, eCommerce platforms, mobile applications, and customer relationship management tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and operations to ensure technology solutions meet business needs and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the selection and relationships with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring contracts and service levels meet the strategic needs of the business.
  • Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing retail infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals, setting clear goals and expectations, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor emerging technology trends within the retail sector and evaluate their applicability to the business, recommending investments when appropriate.
  • Manage budgets and forecast technology spending, ensuring cost-effectiveness and strong ROI on technology investments.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices in cybersecurity within the retail environments.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on the status of technology initiatives, performance metrics, challenges, and strategic opportunities.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in retail technology, ideally 10+ years, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully deploying technology solutions in a retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of current and emerging retail technologies and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Digital Transformation in a retail context is a big advantage
  • Familiarity with global retail markets and multi-national operations.
  • Professional certifications related to IT management, project management, or retail management
