Ruby on Rails Developer

Job Description:

• As a Ruby on Rails Developer, your primary responsibility will be to assist in upgrading a complex Ruby on Rails application from Rails 4.2.4 to the current version and migrating the system to AWS for Blue/Green Faregate deployment.
• You will collaborate closely with the Technical Director of Assessment to accomplish these tasks. Additionally, you will be responsible for testing all dependencies and major features of the upgraded application and ensuring its proper functionality in a serverless environment on AWS.
• Your duties will also involve assisting in networking and security configuration on AWS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Finalize Ruby/Rails upgrade
• Upgrade and thoroughly test all dependencies and Ruby Gems
• Assist in the final stages of AWS migration, including networking and security configuration
• Ensure proper functioning of the API in a serverless environment on AWS

Qualifications Required:

• Fluent in English
• 4+ years of demonstrable experience with Ruby on Rails
• 4+ years solid understanding of front-end Javascript frameworks (AngularJS preferred)
• 4+ years' experience with AWS (IAM, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, EFS, CodePipeline, Fargate)
• 4+ years' experience using version control for code deployment and management (git/GitHub preferred)
• 4+ years' experience developing applications that both consume and expose RESTful web APIs
• Availability to work full-time during EST business hours (flixible)
