The project will deliver a modern platform that aligns system design with the Business Process Reengineering (BPR) process architecture to allow for easy integration of new features in future releases, improve business services to meet public trustee client/user needs and create efficiencies for OPGT. The system will provide flexibility to meet future changes to legislation and policy.
Duties:
As a Scrum Master, you will lead project teams in adopting agile methodologies and scrum practices to consistently deliver sprint deliverables and value while fostering self-organization. This role is crucial in ensuring that agile practices are effectively implemented, leading to successful project outcomes and continuous team improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Agile adoption and coaching: Guide and coach teams on agile principles and methodologies, ensuring effective story writing/mapping, estimation, workflow, and firm sprint commitments. Support the team in achieving self-organization and accountability.
• Sprint facilitation: Promote and ensure successful achievement of sprint goals by facilitating communication between the product owner and the team. Help the team understand the need for clear and concise product backlog items.
• Scrum ceremonies: Lead and facilitate scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and ad hoc sessions.
• Support Product Owner: Assist with backlog management, release planning, road-mapping, and defining effective sprint goals.
• Communication management: Ensure transparent communication, information dissemination. Facilitate conflict resolution, problem solving, and the development of new solutions and approaches to ongoing challenges. Foster an environment where team members feel comfortable raising concerns.
• Remove impediments: Identify and remove any blockers that may impede the team's progress. Proactively address issues to ensure smooth sprint execution.
• Stakeholder engagement: Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders. Remove barriers between stakeholders and scrum teams to streamline work intake and prioritization processes. Arrange and prepare for other meetings as required.
• Risk navigation: Navigate the team through uncertainty, risks, and complexities while communicating these risks to stakeholders.
• Performance monitoring and reporting: Track and report on key metrics such as sprint velocity, burn-down charts, and cycle time. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement. Encourage the use of agile metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Team development and continuous improvement: Establish communities of practice, promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. Support team members in developing their skills and understanding of agile practices. Assist team in reflecting and improving their roles and productivity. Facilitate workshops and training sessions as needed.
• Agile practices advocacy: Advocate for agile values and principles; focus, commitment, respect, openness, and courage within the organization. Promote best practices and ensure adherence to the scrum framework. Encourage experimentation and adaptation of processes to fit the team's needs.
• Work within the standards defined by the project team and in the absence of standards, work with the project team to define new standards. Utilize project selected software and tools (eg. Azure DevOps, Microsoft Office).
