Summary:
The Senior Database Administrator will develop new data structures and administer business system databases, in a global business environment with multiple legacy databases and servers. Change existing databases by establishing and executing essay change management procedures. Review system designs for database requirements and reviews business system designs to ensure efficient database structures. Monitor database performance, perform necessary maintenance, and develop documentation describing the organization's database structures. Administer data warehousing strategies and administer security access for specialized database products. Provide 24x7 on-call support for production databases on a rotation basis and maintain expertise with required database tools.
Responsibilities:
· Perform administrative duties for all SQL Server database environments in the organization.
· Responsible for ensuring the availability and performance of all databases used within the organization.
· Experience in working with vendor-based databases as appropriate.
· Experience or willingness to learn and apply DDL/DML changes to SQL Anywhere, DB2, and Oracle using a change control process.
· Working knowledge in SAP SQL Anywhere (Sybase) Central database to remote database replication and its architecture.
· Database build skills using SAP SQL Anywhere (Sybase) tools and utilities and the ability to improve the database rebuild process.
· Install and test database upgrades and patches. Ability to work as a team with on-site and offshore resources.
· Working knowledge in SSIS & SSRS Package development and deployment, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues, establishing and maintaining communication with internal technology customers, and Maintaining SLA based on organization standards.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
· Minimum of 7 years of DBA experience required.
· Microsoft SQL Server certification is a plus. Knowledge and experience with Oracle databases are beneficial. Experience with DB monitoring tools like SQL Sentry
