Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of embedded software projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress against milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders; Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and product managers to define project requirements and specifications
- Design, develop, and optimize embedded software solutions for various applications related to aerospace applications
- Identify and mitigate project risks, anticipate challenges, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines and budgets
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors as needed to integrate third-party components and technologies into embedded software solutions, if required
- Conduct feasibility studies, process evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses to support decision-making and project prioritization
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the development process, and actively participate in product certification activities
- Update status reports, present project status to customers, and work with LTTS project management to ensure productive and consistent customer communication.
- Understand and adhere to all export control regulations.
- Travel locally onsite to the customer facility several days per week as needed and comply with all customer site requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant experience considered
- 7+ year(s) of relevant experience in project engineering of complex projects
- Strong understanding of engineering principals and relevant technologies related to the project domain
- Ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects from initiation to completion
- Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in embedded systems, such as C, C++, and assembly language
- Solid understanding of embedded software development tools, debugging techniques, and version control systems
- Experience with both real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in embedded systems
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding customer interfacing skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management/engineering, preferably in a regulated industry such as aerospace
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or FDA regulations
- An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices
- Experience writing or creating standard work, establishing processes, and documenting lessons learned
