What you’ll be doing:
- Be part of the Domain leadership team to create technology strategy and influence technology direction.
- Responsible and accountable for all architecture functions within the domain.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders and architects to drive consensus.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining Business Capability map for the domain.
- Creates and maintains Technology Strategy, current and target State architectures for the domain.
- Participates in all Cross-domain architecture routines.
- 7Support solution architecture to create application high level and low-level designs and document the necessary artifacts.
- Other activities as assigned by the Domain Architecture Leader.
Domain Leadership (10%)
- Participate in Domain Leadership Team meetings.
- Contribute to a unified Technology Strategy.
- Evaluate the technical feasibility of business proposals.
Domain Projects and Requirements (30%)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs.
- Ensure designs comply with architectural guidelines.
- Participate in assigned Domain OKRs and other projects.
Supporting Solution Architects (15%)
- Partner with Solution Architects to develop high-level designs.
- Review and validate detailed designs by Solution Architects.
- Provide expert guidance and leadership for solution development.
- Mentor Solution Architects for their growth.
Technology Architecture (15%)
- Create business capability maps through stakeholder interviews.
- Assess capability needs for new projects and initiatives.
- Develop capability heatmaps to inform technology roadmaps.
- Define value streams within the domain.
Documentation and Governance (30%)
- Document key decisions, design elements, risks, and open issues.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions.
- Ensure stakeholder alignment with documented decisions.
- Oversee design discussions during Domain Architecture Office Hours.
- Approve designs that meet established criteria.
- Make decisions using approved processes (e.g., buy vs. build).
- Represent the domain in architectural governance procedures.
Cross-Domain Collaboration (20%)
- Work with other domain experts and architects to achieve design consensus.
- Identify potential impacts on designs across different domains.
- Share knowledge about reusable design patterns across domains.
- Collaborate on cross-domain initiatives.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Associate degree (two-year college)
Experience:
- Required: 2-5 years of relevant work experience (in a similar field and/or industry)
- Preferred: 5-10+ years of relevant/progressive work experience (in a similar field and/or industry)
Skills:
- Cloud experience (migrating legacy solutions, architecting cloud-based solutions) (preferred)
- Broad technology experience (cloud architecture, application development, databases, analytics, machine learning, networking, security, storage, DevOps, containers, serverless, CI/CD, management and monitoring, cloud migrations, IT transformation) (preferred)
- Software Development Expertise (understanding of domain-specific applications, distributed applications, project lifecycle, and technical operations) (preferred)
- Project management skills (understanding of project management principles, experience estimating project size and scope) (preferred)
- Business skills (presentation and communication skills, ability to tailor communication to different audiences) (preferred)
